A Great Introduction

« Back To All

We would like to thank all of the parents who joined us for our Gathering for the Parents of the Class of 2016. We are so pleased to have had a great turn out and are very excited for the upcoming school year.

This annual gathering is a special way for us to welcome our new families, to get reacquainted with our returning families, to allow parents to get to meet one another, and to share information about the transition to Antonian. In keeping with our mission, we invite and welcome parents to immerse themselves in their child’s high school life, becoming active participants in the Antonian Family.

As parents helped themselves to a continental breakfast of pastries, fruit, juice and coffee, they were met by members of our PTC and entertained by an ensemble of members of the Antonian band. After a general welcome by our Dean of Admissions, Mrs. Montemayor, our gathering opened with a prayer by Deacon Hilbert, as we kept in our hearts the family of Mike Gimblet ’77, whose daughter, Morgan, is a member of the entering freshman class. Mr. Gimblet passed away this past weekend.

In addition to introductions of key staff members, greetings by our student council president and freshman class president, and a presentation of uniform options modeled by members of our current freshman class, Mr. Saenz also shared some words with the parents about our concept of formation academically, personally, but most important spiritually. He focused his thoughts on virtue development, which will be a significant theme during the freshman year for the class of 2016.

Our event closed with a very thorough and lively question and answer session and, from the many positive comments we received afterwards, our new parents left with a great sense of enthusiasm and joy!
