Oh, to wear the symbol of excellence,
To be worthy of America's trust,
To carry its badge of honor,
 

A ribbon of blue.

For blue represents endless opportunity,
The promise of freshness
And the jacket of patriotism,

For blue represents educational vision,
A passion for teaching and learning
And the blanket of moral compassion.

For blue represents the courage of leadership,
The talented, the dedicated
And the well-prepared.

For blue represents the noble challenge,
The call to determined action
And is the ultimate mark of the champion.

And blue represents steadfast commitment and hope,
Hope which must embrace the mind of every child within our rainbow
While respecting the multi-ethnic fabric of our nation.
