Describe Nominee’s Academic Involvement:
Amy is taking the most demanding College Preparatory possible and maintains a GPA of 103.21. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, the Latin National Honor Society, Medical Team, Student Council Female Representative, Student Council Executive Board Program Manager. She is a 2000 – 2001 Ventures Scholar. She has won the National Latin Gold Medal and was named Magna cum laude at the Latin Convention 2 years in a row.
Describe Nominee’s Community Involvement:
Amy works part time to help pay for tuition, but still takes time to volunteer her services to nursing homes, hospitals, tutoring programs, and distribute food to the needy. She is a member of the National Hispanic Institute (NHI) where she has won the following awards: NHI – Youth Leaders Conference – 1st Place Cross Examination, Great Debate 2000, NHI Collegiate World Series (CWS) – Team Rice-won series, NHI CWS #4 All Star Player. As a member of the Girls Scouts of America, she has earned the Girls Scouts Silver Award. She also has Red Cross training in First Aid and CPR. Indeed, she is a remarkable student.
