In Preparation of Advent...
It must have been
similar over two thousand years ago, a city like the one below
scurried with people doing the mundane and going about the business
of the day to bring food to the table and care for the little ones.
Little did they know what was about to happen however... Over two
thousand years have past and much has changed for many. Advent is
becoming a period of spiritual preparation in which many Christians
make themselves ready for the coming, or birth, of the Lord, Jesus
Christ. During this time, Christians observe a season of prayer,
fasting and repentance, followed by anticipation, hope and joy.
Many
Christians celebrate advent not only by thanking God for Christ's
first coming to Earth as a baby, but also for his presence among us
today through the Holy Spirit. Join us in praying for one another!
The First Sunday of Advent brings forth the Gospel
message that allows us to wake up and tune in. This first week of
Advent is the time to stop our normal routine and listen for the
signs around and within us. The Sunday readings proclaim that the
Day of the Lord is coming. How will be prepare ourselves?
