Magisters Bray
and Sipe wish to congratulate the Antonian Latin Club for another great
performance at the Area B Junior Classical League Convention in Uvalde this
past weekend.
Out of 17
schools, both public and private, Antonian took 2nd place in the academic
sweepstakes.
Although
acknowledging the fine efforts of all the club members who attended would
take far more room than this announcement allows, the Latin Club would like
to salute the following 1st place winners: Ramiro Fernandez - Advanced Latin
Grammar; Patrick Grayson - Latin Vocabulary, Level 1; Ian Guerra - Reading
Comprehension, Level 1; David Delgado - Reading comprehension, Level 3;
Bryan Feller - Greek History, Level 1; Kyle Morrison - Mythology, Level 1;
Thanh Tran - Mythology, Level 4; Evan Howard - Ancient Geography, Level 1;
Anna Von Bertrab - Ancient Geography, Level 2; Shea Nelson - Ancient

Decathlon, Level 1; Thanh Tran - Academic Decathlon, Level 4. Particular
congratulations to Thanh Tran for achieving the highest overall score on the
Academic Decathlon thereby winning the India Newton Memorial Scholarship and
still making it back to San Antonio in time to help Antonian win the
regional soccer match on Saturday afternoon. Ms. Tran, your brilliance,
effort, character and sense of humor are a model for all of us. The
Antonian Latin Club salutes you and all members who participated in the Area
Convention.
