Mr. Gilbert L. Saenz, Antonian Principal,
announces the donation of $10,000.00 to St. Leo The Great Catholic
School. The Student Leadership Council of Antonian embraced a school-wide
goal of providing assistance to the Catholic Schools in Southside of the
Archdiocese. St. Leo The Great School was selected as the first recipient of
this donation and it will be used to help fund tuition for its students.
During the first semester students at Antonian sold t-shirts in
an effort to raise this money. The Administration, Faculty and Staff
appreciate the efforts of our students and thank them for their generous
understanding of the beatitudes.
During the 2005-2006 school year, students raised $18,000.00 to
assist children in Africa. The money was donated to the Children in Need
Foundation who in turn handed the money to a group of nuns in Africa who
sponsored a school for 1200 students. With the money donated by students the
children were able to eat a minimum of one meal a day and provide for the
upkeep of the school.
In previous years is raised $10,000.00 twice to assist the
students of St. Mary's on the River walk and assisted St. gerard's High
School also.
