Swimmers Return from State (02.05.2007 16:56:30) This past weekend the Swim team participated in the TAPPS State Swim Meet in Austin.  Both Girls and Boys Teams finished 5th in the state.  The Boys 200 medley just missed a school record by 7 tenths of a second and also just missed a school record in the 200 freestyle relay by 3 hundredths of a second.  The Girls 200 medley and the 200 freestyle relay set a new school record with times of 2:00.79 and 1:46.40 respectively.  Representing the record setting medley relay were Heather Matlock, Greta Porisch, Kateri Whitley and Meg McGoldrick.  Representing the record setting freestyle relay were Emile Peterson, Heather Matlock, Daphnee Peterson and Meg McGoldrick.  Setting records at the state meet were Tom Culp in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:04.77 and Daniel Simmons in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.83 and the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:14.84.  Other swimmers posted personal best times for the season.  They were Daphnee Peterson in the 200 freestyle, Greta Porisch in the 100 breaststroke and Cailin Carlo in a lead-off 100 free relay leg with a time of 1:01.64.  Congratulations to all Apache Swimmers who went to Regionals and State and helped support our swimmers.
