Step 1: Get to know us
Antonian offers a variety of ways to get to know about the school:
Admissions materials - Admissions materials are updated every year and are mailed to the families of candidates in late September of the candidate’s 8th grade year. There is a lot of important information as well as pertinent dates contained in these mailings. The Catholic School Office of the Archdiocese of San Antonio provides a database to all Catholic high schools that contains current 8th grade student contact information. For students not attending an Archdiocesan school, please contact our Director of Admissions, Lisa Rosenfeld, at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the mailing list.
Campus Tours - The best way to learn about Antonian is to visit the campus. Antonian facilitates this by offering an open house period for prospective students and their families. Many 8th grade students from San Antonio Catholic middle schools will visit Antonian during a designated school day through tours arranged by their middle school. Parents are welcome and strongly encouraged to accompany their sons/daughters during these visits. Individual family tours are also available and can be scheduled through our Director of Admissions, Lisa Rosenfeld, at email@example.com.
Parent Information Night and Social - Each year, Antonian holds a Parent Information Night and Social for prospective parents of candidates, which includes a presentation by the administration as well as an opportunity for questions and answers. This event will take place on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Center and Auditorium.
Step 2: Submit an application for admission
All students seeking admission into Antonian must complete an application for admission. An application can be obtained from the Antonian website or by contacting the Director of Admissions, Lisa Rosenfeld, at firstname.lastname@example.org. A completed application includes the admission application form and the High School Placement Test administration fee.
Step 3: Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at Antonian
All candidates seeking admission should take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). Candidates who submit a completed application for admission will be automatically registered to take the HSPT at Antonian. By agreement of the principals of all Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of San Antonio, candidates are encouraged to test at the high school of their first choice but are also able to send their HSPT scores to two additional high schools. Due to the expected number of students seeking admission into Antonian, we cannot assure admission to students who do not test at Antonian. Antonian also offers HSPT Merit Scholarships to students who take the test at Antonian and perform well on the test. (Please refer to the scholarship tab for more information.) If a candidate for admission seeking Antonian as their high school of first choice is not able to test on December 10, 2016, please contact the Director of Admissions, Lisa Rosenfeld, at email@example.com to make alternate arrangements.
Step 4: Be interviewed by Antonian staff
All candidates seeking admission will be interviewed by a member of the Antonian staff. Interviews are scheduled by the Director of Admissions upon receipt of a completed application for admission and after the completion of the High School Placement Test. Interviews are generally brief (10 to 15 minutes) and are a means of gaining more information about the candidate.
Step 5: Receive decision letter
All candidates seeking admission should take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). All candidates who have submitted a complete application for admission, have taken the HSPT, have participated in an interview, and for whom Antonian is able to receive transcript materials from his/her respective middle school, will be sent a decision letter by mail on the first Friday in February. Candidates who receive an affirmative decision and are asked to respond with enrollment by Wednesday, February 22, 2017.
