Music Ministry

Antonian College Preparatory Music Ministry (ACPMM) is a liturgical ministry whose main responsibility is to lead our community’s sung prayer at All-School masses, class masses, retreats, and other special events or services. Open to all students, faculty, and staff, our mission is to encourage assembly participation while fostering an environment of reverence and prayerfulness. Comprised of singers, guitarists, pianist, percussionists, and solo instrumentalists; the choir shares a variety of music from our rich Catholic heritage, from basic chant responses to the most contemporary songs.

Our Music Director, Mark Kokotajlo has been active in liturgical ministries since high school. Like many of our students, he was compelled to share his love of God and love of music with his peers, family, and friends and began his development under the guidance of the Society of Mary, or Marianist religious order while in high school (Daniel J. Gross Catholic HS in Omaha, Nebraska), and then again in college (St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas). As he began a career as a firefighter with the San Antonio Fire Department, Mark was also called to ministry at a local parish, St. Anthony Mary Claret, where he’s ministered since the mid-80’s. With three students planning to attend Antonian, it didn’t take much discernment to see where he was headed next! In his fourth year leading the liturgical choir, his focus is on slowly developing a strong foundation and culture of active participation at mass. “We are ALL called to be part of ONE VOICE when we come together to share in the Most Holy Eucharistic celebration! It’s not only our privilege, but our duty to fully participate at mass.
