Latin Club: This past Saturday, The Antonian Latin Club Certamen Team competed in the Churchill Tournament. Out of over 10 teams in the advanced division Antonian, comprised of captain Ryan Dipaulo, Jon Paul Elizondo, Andrew Jackson, and Jason Richter, took 2nd place. Congratulations gentlemen.

Cheerleaders: Please report to room 704 during 7th period. Congratulations for placing 1st in the large advanced division a the Cheer Power Competition this weekend and receiving the High Point Award.

Bowling: Attention bowling team, there will be no mandatory practive all week due to finals, but there will be a meeting today after school in Mr. Derbonne’s room, #203, please be there at 3:30. No later.

NHS: NHS members remember the Angel Tree gifts are due no later than Friday Dec. 9th. These children are counting on us to bring Christmas cheer to them. Let’s not disappoint. Turn in gifts to Mrs. Toscano in her room.

Clothing Drive: This week Antonian is having a clothing drive to clothe San Antonio’s homeless this winter. Bring your gently used clothing to your theology classrooms. The class that donates the highest amount of clothing by weight will be the winner!

Coffee Drive: The Senior Class will be participating in their Annual Coffee Drive which helps the west side senior citizens. It is a Coffee Drive which is sponsored by an alum, Mark Garcia, who graduated in 2004. The senior advisory who has the greatest pounds per student wins a pizza party in January. The drive is through December 12th.

Girls Soccer: Your girls soccer teams have had a great week and season so far. Starting off with JV with 2 wins and a tie. Leading the way the goal scoring machine Alice Leonard scored twice in last nights victory verses Incarnate Word. Sam Dietschel finally broke her penalty kick curse and Robin Montemayor rounded out this week’s scoring.

Varsity also won 2 games this week. 10-0 vs Holy Cross and 1-0 vs Incarnate Word last night. Defensively your team has only let up 1 goal in district play and is 7-0 in district/ Goal scorer Cassie Santos assisted by Bridgette Kozar finished the game in great style. Thank you for all those that came to the game.

Drama Society: International Thespian Society candidates- We will have our Induction Saturday, December 10th at 11am. You must turn in your $22 dues by this Friday the 2nd & attend a mandatory meeting Monday the 5th at 3:30. See Mrs. Overton with questions.

Africa Awareness: All Africa Awareness members, if you signed up to buy tshirt the required $10 is due today. Please turn in your money to senior Alexa Nudelman or junior Liam Kemmy.

Boys Basketball: Congratulations to the JV Boys Basketball team. The boys captured the Gervin Academy Championship by defeating Alamo Heights in the finals.

The Varsity competed in the South San Invitational taking 3 of 4 games. The Apaches defeated McCollum, McAllen Memorial, and O’Connor.

Swimming: The Antonian Swim & Dive Team will be competing in the “Battle of the Crown” held at the Josh Davis Natatorium in the Blossom Athletic Center. The meet is set for Tuesday, December 6th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This event will include former Olympic Champions, Josh Davis, Jimmy Fiegan, Aaron Piersol, Brendan Hansen, and many others. This meet is also a fundraiser for the Josh Davis Cancer Fund. Hope to see you there!

Girls Basketball: Girls basketball had an amazing weekend in the Nike Katy Invitational. The Lady Apaches defeated Mayde Creek, Jersey Village, and St. Pius. The team came together to pull off several upsets. Come support the Lady Apaches tomorrow at Wagner as they aim for another victory.

Golf: The Antonian boys golf team competed the last two days at the O'Connor Invitational at Alsation Golf Club in Castroville. Two teams played with the red team finishing 2nd and the columbia blue team finishing 7th. The red team was led by Alex Bissaro who finished third overall with a score of 75-71. Other players were Phil Coelho, Ben Kalter, Jason McKeown, and Andre Ramirez. Playing for the blue team were Andrew Montemayor, Tyler Retzloff, Bobby Rush, Andrew Sanders and Andrew Smith. It was a great learning experience for all players as they played their first two day tournament of the season.

Sign Language Club: The Sign Language Club will be meeting today at 3:45 in Mrs. Arizpe’s room. Please be promptly in a seat at 3:45.

Chess Club: Last night, the Antonian Chess Club recaptured the Division 1 title, with B.J. Ruiz placing first undefeated. Jayden Flores won 3rd place and Mike Arocha 5th. In Division II, Gabe Gomez won bronze medal and our team lost first place by only one point. Joshua Owen and Brian DeSolme also delivered fine performances. Congratulations to both teams.

Bowling: The Bowling Team has a match today at 5:00 at AMF Country Lanes against Lee High School. Go Apache Bowling!
