Forty of our students participated in the Engineer-for-a-Day program. The program gives local high school students who are interested in engineering the opportunity to spend the day shadowing an engineer at a local company to learn about the daily workings of a career in engineering. Engaging students through this outreach program, can inspire them to wonder, "Is engineering my future?"
Currently, we offer four engineering classes at Antonian. The Engineering I class is using the design process to redesign an apartment building for improved safety in an earthquake-prone region of northeast Asia. The Engineering II class is developing code to convert any color or gray-scale image to a three-tone, Warhol style picture that allows an artist to control colors and shaded regions using slider bars.
