A fitting phrase to describe the experience had by those who traveled to Greece and Italy this past June on an Antonian trip led by Latin teacher and Latin Club Sponsor, Mr. Patrick Bray. An enthusiastic group of sophomores, juniors, seniors, and recent graduates (Latin and Spanish students), along with a few parents and other family members, took part in seeing the sites of ancient and modern-day Greece and Italy.
The group visited important and amazing landmarks like the Parthenon, Delphi, Pompei, the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, the Vatican, and St. Peter’s. A great time was also had at a traditional, plate-breaking Greek dinner, complete with Greek dancing, on an excursion to the gorgeous island of Capri for site seeing and swimming, and on a tour of a lemon and mozzarella farm in Sorrento.
Interacting with the Greek and Italian locals, eating the wonderful food, and going on shopping sprees was second to none! New friends were made not only amongst the Antonian students and families but also with students from Cleveland and Nashville, with whom part of the tour was shared. Yet another successful, educational, and fun-filled trip was had by members of the Antonian community under the direction of Mr. Bray!
Next year’s trip, which is for Antonian alums and current and past ACP parents, is sure to be an exciting adventure experiencing Italy’s rich history and culture. An informational meeting will take place in September with the date, time, and location to be determined. Stay tuned!
