Brandon Davis awarded the National Alice Garvey Excellence in Youth Award

Brandon Davis was recently awarded the national Alice Garvey Excellence in Youth Award by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) for his campaign Find Five Friends (that he started at Antonian). He will be attending the SVdP National Assembly in Baltimore (August 31-September 3) where he will receive his national award. He will also attend the national convention's Youth Track where he will meet and collaborate with other young Catholic leaders from around the USA. He was nominated for this national award by the SVdP Southwest Texas Board of Directors. They said, "He not only embodies the Vincentian charisms of spirituality, friendship, and service...he is calling others his age to live out these charisms as well." In addition to the campaign, Brandon volunteers at SVdP food pantries and helps serve the Society any chance he gets.
Earlier this month, Brandon met with San Antonio city leaders and he has been invited to share his Find Five Friends campaign with all faith-based organizations in the city through the City's Faith Liaison. He will be working alongside the Faith Liaison from now until his senior year.
On September 11, 2022, Brandon will be representing Antonian, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and his Find Five Friends campaign. He will be speaking with nationally recognized authors as they all talk about "Storytelling and the Healing of Community".
